Isabella (Bella) is a 18-year-old teen from Meridian, Idaho. At age 15, Bella was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma on Christmas Eve. She was halfway through her junior year in high school and suddenly her world changed.
Instead of schoolwork and hanging out with friends, Bella was dealing with intensive chemotherapy, lost all her hair and spent more than 60 days in the hospital. She also had many months of physical therapy to repair the damage done to her body from the treatments.
“When I learned that I would be receiving a wish, I was ecstatic! I knew right away that my wish was to visit Ireland.” Throughout her entire life, Bella’s father would share stories of the family’s Irish heritage, which instilled in Bella a love of European history. Bella’s wish came true, with a family trip to Ireland. With her Mom, Dad, sister and brother, the family explored Ireland, including Blarney Castle, the Cliffs of Moher and Kilkenny Castle. “It was the trip of a lifetime!” This trip with family allowed Bella to simply be a kid, enjoying her family and exploring her roots. Her favorite part of the trips were Irish breakfasts!
A wish is not just nice, it’s a necessity. Wishes granted make difficult circumstances easier for the Wish Kids and their families.
