At nine-years old, Lucas of Nampa is ready to give back not only to his community but to his country!  Lucas is being treated for Ehlers Danlos which is a condition that affects his joints, skin and blood vessels.  He loves the Pirate of the Caribbean movies, G.I. Jo & Ninja books, eating watermelon and playing wii golf.  When Lucas’ wish granters asked him what his wish would be, Lucas said he would like to spend an entire day being a soldier!  Lucas’ family friend is a tank commander and has sent photos which have sparked his interest but he has also always admired the men and women who serve our country.  On the day of his wish, Lucas got to ride in a real army tank, tour a “secret” area, have lunch with his troop while wearing his custom uniform, learn how to properly salute and do push-ups and tour a Blackhawk helicopter!  To conclude his day, a special award ceremony took place in his honor where we was showered with cool soldier necessities and novelties.  I’m sure this is a day that Lucas will never forget as his mother stated she had never seen him quite as happy as she did during his wish!
